Galleries > Art at Flower Hill

Pieces in this gallery are the result of a residency at Austin's historic Flower Hill Foundation (now open as an Urban Homestead Museum) all inspired by the land and historic homestead that was home to three generations of the Smoot family. Flower Hill was my muse for almost a year. I created works about the land and also about the house itself. Nature is my accustomed muse so the land brought plenty of inspiration but the historic home was more challenging. I ended up choosing to depict natural light within the rooms. Shadow patterns became a character element in the interiors depicted.
And, at the Bottom of this page, please click on, and view, the video of the Flower Hill Suite crankie performance. The performance was filmed on the dining porch at Flower Hill.
